Taylorsville, IN - On a hot afternoon somewhere along the desolate Afghanistan/Pakistani border, Eddy Simpson may as well have been back in his Indiana elementary school. That was the setting, after-all, that started him on a journey that at the age of 38 brought him to an Al Qaeda training camp where he  finally felt a sense of inclusion. It was a place where he was welcomed for his hatred of all things America rather than shunned for his weight problem and lack of personal hygiene. Then, like so many times before, his perspiration soaked grip gave way somewhere around the 8th rung. As his body came crashing down in a combination of sweat, dust and wounded pride, it happened once again. They laughed at him. But for a few gray hairs and a lot of AK-47 fire, he was a child again.
